The Gambling Commission outlawed credit cards as a gambling payment method on 14 April 2020, and every UKGC licence holder has to enforce it. Sites licensed abroad — most of them by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board — never fell under that rule, so Visa and Mastercard still clear there.

Getting started takes three moves: open an account, pick your card in the cashier, then nominate a debit card, e-wallet or crypto wallet for payouts.

We checked every cashier below for accepted cards, minimum deposits, limits and payout timings, and two of them turn out not to take a card at all in the form you might expect.

Keep reading for the brand-by-brand breakdown, the comparison table, the safety checks that matter, and a practical guide to keeping your spending under control.

Credit Card Casino Sites Reviewed: Ten Brands That Take Visa and Mastercard

Most brands below run on a Curaçao licence and list Visa and Mastercard in the cashier. Britsino registers in Costa Rica and names no individual card scheme, and Lizaro documents no card rail at all. The blocks cover what you actually play, what the bonus is worth, and how the money comes back out.

Donbet — Credit Card Casino with a Ten-Level VIP Ladder

Donbet is the pick here if you want volume and a loyalty scheme with real structure behind it.

Donbet runs thousands of titles, with Book of Dead, Sugar Rush and Magic Apple leading the slot lobby. Mega Wheel and a 500x Auto Roulette anchor the live floor, while Aero, Plinko and Dino cover the mini-games tab.

Two tournaments run at all times, and the slot race carries a pool of 50,000 free spins. The Mafia Room VIP club climbs ten levels from Associate to Don, paying free spins, rakeback and weekly cashback at each tier — progress is deliberately slow, so treat it as a long game rather than a quick top-up.

NV Casino — Cards In, and a Strict Rule About What Comes Back

NV Casino takes Visa, Mastercard and Maestro alongside Revolut, bank transfer, Skrill, Neteller, MiFinity, Paysafecard and a dozen-plus coins. That breadth matters because of the rule sitting on top of it: withdrawals must use the method you deposited with.

A credit card cannot receive gambling winnings as a payout, so a card deposit here means arranging a second rail for the money coming back.

Each rail also carries its own withdrawal floor, and crypto clears while plastic is still pending, so your exit choice decides how long you wait. Register the wallet or bank account you want to be paid on at the same time as the card, not after your first win.

Cosmobet — Tournament-Led Visa and Mastercard Casino Site

Cosmobet suits players who want a card-friendly cashier and a tournament calendar that never sits still. Cosmobet resets its prize pools every three days, and those pools run from £300,000 up to £1 million.

The casino welcome and the separate crypto match sit in the table below, and a card deposit only ever reaches the first of them.

Blueprint Gaming, Evoplay, Playson, Thunderkick, Betsoft, BGaming and Habanero fill the lobby, so the game mix is broader than the site’s size suggests. Weekly cashback and a separate sports welcome give regular players something to come back to beyond the first deposit.

Goldenbet — Credit Card Casino Built Around the Sportsbook

Goldenbet is the sports-first option in this group, with betting limits above the offshore norm and the deepest market list on this page. Goldenbet splits its welcome three ways across casino, sport and esports, so a card deposit aimed at slots claims one strand of it rather than the lot.

The casino match repeats on deposits two and three, which means the advertised total needs a planned run of card payments rather than a single one.

Its Slot Race restarts on a fixed three-day cycle, and the top 50 players share each round. Pragmatic Play, Relax Gaming, Play’n GO and BGaming supply the slots, with bet builders and cashback rounding out the sports side.

HighSpin — The Slowest Card Payout and the Fastest Crypto One

HighSpin lists Visa and Mastercard beside Open Banking, Apple Pay, Google Pay , Neteller, Skrill, Bitcoin and Ethereum. The gap between those rails on the way out is the story here: crypto lands in 30 minutes to two hours, e-wallets inside a day, cards in three to five working days.

Winnings never return to a credit line in any case, so the card is your entrance and something else is your exit.

Funding the account and qualifying for a bonus are two separate thresholds, and payouts run against caps of €2,000 daily and €5,000 weekly.

Identity checks come before the first payout and usually clear inside 24 hours, so submit documents on day one rather than day thirty.

MyStake — The Largest Game Library Among Credit Card Casinos

MyStake carries 6,179 games, the deepest catalogue of any brand on this page. MyStake opened early enough to have the longest public track record in this group, and its Trustpilot score rests on tens of thousands of reviews rather than a handful.

The welcome package is staged rather than paid in one lump, so the full value needs a planned sequence of card payments.

Hacksaw Gaming, Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play and Booongo supply the slots, alongside exclusive MyStake originals you will not find elsewhere. Card deposits clear instantly, and the VIP club, tournaments, esports, sportsbook and racebook give you somewhere to put the balance once it lands.

Freshbet — Fastest Cashier Among Casino Sites That Take Credit Cards

Freshbet pairs a clean interface with the quickest approvals we found in this set. Push Gaming, Platipus, EGT Digital, Evoplay, Betsoft and Thunderkick stock a lobby that leans heavily towards slots.

The casino welcome, a crypto-only match and a three-deposit route at a steeper percentage all run in parallel, so check which one a card deposit actually triggers.

WinBoost — No Operator Fee on a Card Deposit or the Payout After It

WinBoost takes Visa and Mastercard alongside PayPal, Skrill, Neteller , Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. What separates it from most card cashiers is the published fee position: WinBoost charges nothing on either side, though your card issuer or payment provider may still apply its own.

Payout speed splits sharply by rail here, with crypto first, e-wallets next and plastic last. Because no gambling payout returns to a credit line, that slowest card timing applies to a debit refund rather than a credit balance.

Verification comes first — photo ID, proof of address dated within three months, and payment-method confirmation — and usually clears within a business day.

Rolletto — Weekend Free Spins on a Card-Friendly Cashier

Rolletto rewards players who show up on a schedule rather than once. Rolletto pays a hundred free spins on Saturday and another hundred on Sunday, and those spins carry a higher value than the weekend offers elsewhere in this group.

Qualifying for them costs considerably more than the cashier floor, so weekend regulars should size the deposit to the offer rather than the minimum.

The casino welcome and a separate crypto route run alongside, and confirming your email address alone releases no-deposit spins before you fund anything. NetEnt, EGT, Hacksaw Gaming and Red Tiger stock the lobby, and the Slots Race and Grand Betting tournaments carry the largest pooled prizes here.

GQBet — Four Bonus Tiers on a Card, Bank and Crypto Cashier

GQBet holds a Curaçao Gaming Control Board licence and lists cards, bank transfer, e-wallets and crypto in the cashier. Entry costs more than at most brands on this page, and the welcome runs across four tiers rather than landing in one go.

A card-funded run therefore means four separate transactions, so the full package is a plan rather than a single deposit.

GQBet does not publish payout timings by rail, and no offshore cashier sends winnings back to a credit line regardless. Decide your exit method in the cashier before the first of those four deposits, because the fourth is a poor moment to discover your options.

Velobet leads this list on headline match value, and no other card cashier here comes close to its multiplier. Velobet also runs a crypto bonus, a no-deposit reward for following the brand socially, and cashback on the sports side.

Loyalty entry costs far more than the cashier minimum, and it then pays wagerless cashback, slot cashback, free spins and free bets.

Nationalbet — Mission-Based Rewards at a Credit Card Casino

Nationalbet turns wagering into a points economy rather than a flat cashback line. Nationalbet sets missions such as completing a set number of spins on a named slot, then pays points you spend in the in-game store on free spins, bonus funds and gifts.

A card deposit takes the standard casino welcome, while the larger match needs coins, so the rail you pick caps the offer you get.

Monday reloads and a separate casino reload keep the account moving between welcome stages. Pragmatic Play and Novomatic supply the games, and regular tournaments pay cash rather than bonus credit — worth knowing if you dislike wagering requirements.

30Bet — A Card Deposit Sized to a Bonus You Can Finish

30Bet lists cards, e-wallets and crypto, and it pairs them with the smallest welcome package on this page. A card deposit sized to a bonus you can actually finish is a very different commitment from one chasing the £10,000 ceiling further down this list.

The smaller number is the one people complete, and a slots-only requirement inside a fixed claim window is easy to plan around a single deposit.

Wager-free cashback runs alongside and pays real money, so a losing run returns something without a playthrough attached. Winnings leave by wallet, debit card or crypto, because a credit card cannot take a gambling payout at any site here.

BetFoxx — Highest Bonus Ceiling of the Casinos That Accept Credit Cards

BetFoxx publishes the largest headline number on this page, and nothing else in this group comes near its ceiling. BetFoxx keeps the design plain and puts the value into the promotions instead.

Its free spins carry no wagering at all, so anything they win is cash from the moment it lands. Daily slots cashback and a separate sports welcome sit on top, which gives one card deposit two routes back rather than one.

Play’n GO, Pragmatic Play, Evoplay and BGaming stock the lobby, and a full sportsbook sits alongside the casino for players who split their stake across both.

Britsino — Fiat Accepted, Card Schemes Not Named

Britsino publishes its cashier as fiat and crypto without naming Visa or Mastercard specifically, so card support is unconfirmed at the time of writing. Costa Rica registration covers the site rather than a Curaçao licence, which is a lighter framework than the rest of this page runs on.

Behind that sit a large multi-provider lobby and one of the biggest advertised packages here, although published spin counts differ between sources.

Ask support which card schemes clear before you try a deposit, and expect the payout to leave by a different rail whatever the answer.

Memocasino — Low-Stake Entry Among Visa and Mastercard Casino Sites

Memocasino asks for the smallest commitment on this page and still pays a three-part welcome. Memocasino operates as IntellogixSoft B.V. under a Curaçao licence and is a recent arrival to the UK-facing offshore market.

The first deposit carries the match and the spins, with smaller offers on deposits two and three behind it. Cards, e-wallets and crypto all sit in the cashier, and it is the approval queue rather than the rail that sets your wait.

A loyalty scheme, cashback programme, daily wheel, tournaments and a mobile app cover the rest — there are no ranked VIP tiers, so the rewards stay flat rather than gated.

Lizaro — The One Site Here With No Card Rail At All

Lizaro is the exception on this page, because its documented cashier holds Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Tether and no card scheme whatsoever. Say it plainly rather than burying it: a Visa or Mastercard deposit is not possible here at the time of writing.

What the crypto-only route buys is scale, with Pragmatic Play, Nolimit City and Hacksaw Gaming behind the lobby and Evolution running the live rooms.

The welcome package is staged rather than paid at once, so it rewards a planned run in coin instead of a single top-up.

Lizaro belongs on this page as the boundary case — read it to understand where the card option ends, then pick a card cashier above if that is what you need.

What Changed on 14 April 2020 and Why Your Card Stopped Working

The credit card ban is the single reason this page exists. On 14 April 2020 the UK Gambling Commission prohibited licensed operators from accepting credit cards for gambling, across online casinos, bookmakers, bingo and lotteries.

The rule sits on the operator, not on you. A UKGC licence holder that processes a credit card payment for gambling breaches its licence conditions, so the block is absolute at every British site.

The reasoning came from the Commission’s own research at the time. According to UKGC studies from that period, around 24 million adults in Britain gambled in some form, and roughly 800,000 of them used a credit card to do it.

A notable share of that group showed signs of problem gambling, which is what tipped the decision. Follow-up work from the same period reported that most affected players simply stopped borrowing to gamble after the ban rather than switching to another borrowing route.

What the ban did not do is make offshore play illegal for you. British law puts the compliance duty on licence holders, and a player who deposits at a site licensed in another jurisdiction is not committing an offence.

That distinction matters when you read forum posts claiming the opposite. The site carries the regulatory obligations; you carry the financial ones.

The practical result is a split market. UKGC sites take debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and bank transfers, and refuse credit entirely.

Offshore operators licensed elsewhere kept Visa and Mastercard in the cashier and added crypto alongside . If you have been declined at a British brand and accepted at a Curaçao one, that gap is the whole explanation.

How Casinos That Accept Credit Cards Are Set Up

Almost every brand on this page runs under a Curaçao licence rather than a UK one, with Britsino registered in Costa Rica instead.

Curaçao’s regulator is the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, and since the National Ordinance on Games of Chance reform it issues operator licences directly instead of through the old master-licence chain. That framework sets its own rules on payments, and it does not carry the UKGC’s credit card prohibition.

Payment processing works differently too. Offshore cashiers route card payments through acquirers outside the UK, which is why the transaction sometimes appears on your statement under an unfamiliar merchant name.

Some UK issuers still decline these attempts on their own policy, independent of any regulator, because the merchant category code for gambling is blocked at their end. If your card bounces at an offshore site, the issuer is usually the cause rather than the casino.

Bonus terms also differ from what you see at British brands. Offshore welcome packages run at higher match percentages and larger ceilings, and they carry wagering requirements to match.

A 300% match with 40x wagering is not automatically better value than a 100% match at 35x — the multiplier and the eligible games decide that. Read the game weighting before you assume slots and live tables count the same, because they rarely do.

Verification follows anti-money-laundering rules rather than a fixed schedule. Crypto deposits usually pass without a document request.

Card payments and larger withdrawals trigger identity checks, and you should expect to supply photo ID, proof of address and sometimes proof of the payment method. Upload those documents early and your first withdrawal clears in hours instead of days.

How We Rank Credit Card Casinos

Licence status comes first. We check that the operator is named on the Curaçao register, that the company details match the site footer, and that the terms name a real corporate entity. A missing licence number ends the assessment immediately.

Cashier behaviour comes second. We look for Visa and Mastercard listed openly on the payments page, a published minimum deposit, stated withdrawal limits, and a clear answer on which rails pay out. Sites that hide their limits behind a login rank lower than sites that publish them.

Payout speed carries the most weight after that. A 24 to 72 hour approval window is the offshore standard, and anything slower needs a reason. We also check whether the site processes at weekends, because a Friday request that sits until Monday costs you three days of waiting.

Bonus quality matters more than bonus size. We compare the wagering multiplier, the maximum bet while a bonus is live, the expiry window and the game weighting.

A 600% match with a hard bet cap can be worth less than a 150% match with none, and wagerless free spins beat a bigger spin count almost every time.

Game range and provider mix finish the assessment. We want recognisable studios, a live casino floor with more than a token handful of tables, and a lobby that filters by provider and category.

Support gets a live test, and 24/7 chat with a human reply inside a few minutes is the benchmark this group should hit.

Is It Safe to Pay by Credit Card at an Online Casino?

Card safety depends on three things : the site, your issuer and your own limits. Take them in that order and the picture gets clear quickly.

The site side is the part you can inspect. Look for a valid licence number that resolves on the regulator’s register, TLS encryption on the cashier page, and a named company in the terms and conditions.

Check that the withdrawal policy is published rather than vague, and that the support channel answers before you deposit. If a site cannot tell you its own payout timescale, that is your answer.

Your issuer adds a second layer. Card payments run through 3-D Secure, so your bank verifies the transaction before it completes, which stops someone using stolen card details on your account.

Your card number is tokenised at the cashier rather than stored in plain text at most operators. What a credit card does not give you is anonymity — the payment carries your name, and the casino sees it. Anyone selling card deposits as a private option is wrong.

Costs are the part players miss. Many UK issuers treat a gambling payment as a cash advance, which means a handling fee plus interest that starts on day one with no interest-free period.

Foreign acquirers can add a non-sterling transaction fee even when the site quotes in pounds. Check your card’s terms on gambling transactions before you use it, because the cost sits with the issuer rather than the casino.

The financial risk is the one that outranks all of it. A credit card spends borrowed money, and a losing session on borrowed money becomes a debt with interest attached.

That is a genuinely different position from losing funds you already held . Treat that difference as the deciding factor, and set your limits before you deposit rather than after.

How to Keep Your Spending Under Control on Credit Card Gambling Sites

Control starts with a number you decide away from the site. Set a monthly gambling budget out of disposable income — money left after rent, bills, food, savings and debt repayments are covered.

Write the figure down. If a deposit would push you past it, the answer is no, and there is no version of that rule that bends late on a Saturday night.

Stake sizing protects the budget from a single bad run. The working rule is 1% to 5% of your bankroll per bet or per spin.

On a £200 monthly bankroll, that means £2 to £10 a session at most, and £2 spins rather than £10 ones if you want the session to last. Staking 20% of your balance on one spin is not a strategy, it is a coin toss with your whole month riding on it.

Deposit limits turn the budget into something the site enforces for you. Every operator on this page lets you set daily, weekly or monthly deposit caps in your account settings, and the cap takes effect immediately while increases carry a cooling-off delay.

Loss limits do the same job from the other direction by stopping play once you are down by a set amount. Session time reminders are worth switching on too, because time slips faster than money does.

Tracking is what keeps you honest. Log every deposit and every withdrawal in a spreadsheet or a notes app, with the date, the amount and the site. Your card statement gives you the raw data, and gambling transactions are itemised clearly on it.

Add the month up at the end and compare it to the budget you set — most players who do this once are surprised, and the surprise is the point.

The rule that matters most is the one about chasing. Never deposit to recover a loss. A loss is a completed event, and the next deposit is a fresh decision that has nothing to do with it.

Chasing is the single behaviour that turns a controlled hobby into a problem, and it does that fastest when the money being chased is borrowed. If you notice yourself reaching for the card straight after a losing session, close the tab and use the cooling-off tools in your account.

How to Start at Visa and Mastercard Casino Sites, Step by Step

  1. Pick your site. Choose a brand from the table above and check its licence number on the regulator’s register before anything else.
  2. Register. Enter your name, date of birth, email and address, select GBP as your currency, and confirm the email.
  3. Set your limits first. Open account settings and apply a deposit limit and a loss limit before you fund the account. Doing this at step three rather than step ten is what makes it stick.
  4. Verify early. Upload photo ID and proof of address straight away, so the checks are already cleared when your first withdrawal lands.
  5. Open the cashier. Select Visa or Mastercard, enter the amount, and complete the 3-D Secure prompt from your bank.
  6. Claim the bonus deliberately. Tick the welcome offer only if the wagering, the maximum bet rule and the expiry window suit how you play. Skipping the bonus keeps your balance withdrawable.
  7. Add your payout method. Register a debit card, e-wallet or crypto wallet in your name, since winnings will not return to the credit card.
  8. Request the withdrawal. Submit the request, wait for approval, and expect funds inside 24 to 72 hours on the rails listed above.

FAQ

Are credit card casinos legal for UK players?

Yes. The ban binds UKGC licensees, not players. Depositing at an offshore site is not an offence.

Why did the UKGC ban credit cards?

Research linked credit card gambling to harm. The prohibition took effect on 14 April 2020 across all licensed operators.

Can I withdraw winnings to my credit card?

Almost never. Payouts route to a debit card, e-wallet or crypto wallet registered in your name.

Do UK banks block these deposits?

Some do. Issuers can decline gambling merchant codes independently of any regulator, so a decline is often bank-side.

Will my bank charge me for a casino deposit?

Often yes. Many issuers treat it as a cash advance, adding a fee plus interest from day one.

What is the minimum deposit at these sites?

Typically £10 at the brands listed here. Confirm the current figure on the cashier page.

How fast are withdrawals at credit card casinos?

Crypto and e-wallets clear within 24 hours. Cards and bank transfers take several working days.

Is identity verification required?

Yes. Card payments and larger withdrawals trigger ID checks under anti-money-laundering rules at every site here.

Final Thoughts on Credit Card Casinos in the UK

The card question has a simple answer once you know where the rule sits. British licensees cannot take credit cards and will not make an exception, while Curaçao-licensed sites like Donbet, MyStake, Freshbet and BetFoxx still list Visa and Mastercard in the cashier.

Playing there is not an offence for you, and the deposit itself clears in seconds.

What you get for that deposit is the real reason to pick one site over another. Freshbet pays fastest and lifts its ceiling to £50,000 at the top tier. MyStake gives you 6,179 games.

BetFoxx puts 300 wagerless free spins behind its match, and Velobet’s 330% is the biggest multiplier here. Donbet’s ten-level Mafia Room rewards players who stay, and Memocasino lets you start at £10 with a three-part welcome.

Whichever you choose, set the payout method up front, because the money comes back on a debit card, an e-wallet or in crypto, never on the credit card that funded it.

Set your deposit limit before your first spin, keep each stake to 1% to 5% of the bankroll, and log the transactions as you go.

Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over, and it is entertainment rather than a way to make money. Stake only what you can comfortably lose, and remember that a credit card deposit is borrowed money that has to be repaid with interest.
